The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund

The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund

Helping hundreds of community clubs and junior teams across the country to purchase a defibrillator

Following the tragic death of Keighley Cougars player Danny Jones last May, a new campaign was launched by Lizzie Jones, wife of Danny, in partnership with the RFL, the RFL Benevolent Fund and Rugby League Cares.

The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund aims to raise money that will help hundreds of community clubs and junior teams across the country to purchase a defibrillator, while helping raise awareness of the value of defibrillators as life saving devices to community clubs

Defibrillators cost around £1,000 each and provide potentially life-saving treatment to anyone suffering a cardiac arrest.

Clubs can purchase a defibrillator from RFL-recommended WelMedical by clicking HERE.

Clubs are encouraged to purchase the defibrillators and then submit an application to the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund to help with the costs.

The purpose of Danny Jones Fund is to encourage as many community Rugby League clubs as possible to purchase a defibrillator via a grants programme administered by Rugby League Cares.

The Danny Jones Defib Fund Grant committee will achieve this through the provision of a small grant to enable and assist clubs with the purchase.
