BBC launches 2016 Get Inspired Unsung Hero Award

Give Rugby League volunteers a chance to shine!

Do you know a Community Game volunteer who deserves recognition for efforts to grow our game and help people get involved in Rugby League?

Nominations are invited for the BBC Get Inspired Unsung Hero Award 2016.

Each of the 15 BBC nations and regions will select a winner to be put forward to the final judging panel.

All the finalists will receive a trip for themselves +1 to the 2016 BBC Sports Personality of the Year in Birmingham on 18 December and to walk down the red carpet as well as having the chance to be the overall winner and receive the award on the SPOTY stage.

The BBC also wants to hear stories of those who exemplify what sports volunteering is all about.

In partnership with Be Inspired the BBC will be running the #bigthankyou campaign, to recognise and say thank you to sports volunteers - and a few lucky nominees will receive a personal phone call from a sport star on the SPOTY red carpet to say 'thank-you.'
