The Presentation Party at the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final between Catalans Dragons and Warrington Wolves will be led by Rugby Football League President and Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham and TV Presenter, Comedian and Author Adam Hills.
The Presentation Party will be introduced to the competing teams and match officials prior to kick-off. They will then be responsible for presenting the commemorative medals and famous trophy to the winning captain.
Andy Burnham was elected as Mayor of Greater Manchester in May 2017.
Prior to this Andy was MP for Leigh from 2001. In Government, Andy has held Ministerial positions at the Home Office, Department of Health and the Treasury. In 2008 he became Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, before returning to Health as Secretary of State in 2009.
In opposition, Andy has served as Shadow Education Secretary, Shadow Health Secretary and Shadow Home Secretary. Andy is a thought leader and champion on the Northern Powerhouse agenda, and committed to ensuring bold, radical and ambitious plans for Greater Manchester as a major economic and political power.
Adam Hills is an Australian comedian, radio and television presenter and writer. He is well known for his UK TV work ‘The Last Leg’ including Paralympics coverage which has been nominated for a range of UK awards including by the Royal Television Society and BAFTA. He is the author of a new book ‘Best Foot Forward’.
A life-long Rugby League fan, Adam is actively working to bring the sport to anyone who wants to play. He has been instrumental in the founding of the new Physical Disability Rugby League offer in the UK and is a passionate champion, and player, of disability Rugby League and will be taking to the field in the inaugural PDRL World Club Challenge. He will also be taking to the hallowed Wembley turf at half-time of the Challenge Cup final to take part in the charity challenge to raise money for the Warrington Wolves Foundation.
Andy Burnham and Adam Hills will be joined by Ladbrokes Head of Sponsorship and Events Adrian Osman, Rugby Football League Chairman Brian Barwick and CEO Ralph Rimmer and the Vice-President of the Rugby Football League Pat Crawshaw.
