Betfred Championship: Round 22 Preview

Betfred Championship: Round 22 Preview

Only two games remain in the Betfred Championship before the Super 8s Qualifiers, Toronto Wolfpack have already picked up the League Leaders’ Shield, and only three points separate Toulouse Olympique in second to Leigh Centurions in sixth.

Toronto Wolfpack will host Rochdale Hornets on Saturday night to kick off the weekend’s action, Wolfpack will be looking to extend their winning streak to 18 games against bottom of the table Hornets.

Wolfpack’s Blake Wallace has been in tremendous form for the Canadian side scoring ten tries in five games, he has also scored a hat-trick twice in the last three games.

Four of the top six team face each other this weekend, Featherstone Rovers host London Broncos, while Toulouse travel to Halifax.

Featherstone are currently in third position one point ahead of London Broncos in fourth, Broncos will be full of confidence after gaining two crucial points to lift them ahead of Halifax, while Featherstone beat Swinton Lions 60-4.

A win for Olympique could see them guaranteed a place in the Qualifiers, but they will have to be at their best to beat a Halifax team that are currently fifth.

Centurions need a win against struggling Swinton Lions to keep pressure on those above them, Swinton will be without Chris Hankinson who has recently joined Wigan Warriors.

Dewsbury Rams face Sheffield Eagles as both teams will be looking to pull away from the bottom two teams.
