Try Tag Rugby numbers continue to grow

Try Tag Rugby numbers continue to grow

Try Tag Rugby has seen an increase in player numbers for the 2018 early summer season of almost 10% compared to the same period last year.

This year Try Tag Rugby successfully launched in Bristol, Coventry & Warwickshire and Hull, whilst new leagues were added in London, Manchester & Yorkshire.

The increase to 643 teams from 593 last year represents Try Tag Rugby's biggest ever season and sees over 600 new players taking part in Tag Rugby League on a weekly basis.

This growth was despite one of Try Tag Rugby's most popular venues, Hyde Park which runs leagues four evenings per week in the summer seasons, being out of action for the early summer season (May/June) due to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.

The summer season, which commences from Wednesday, 20th June onward across Bristol, Coventry & Warwickshire, London, Manchester, the Thames Valley & Yorkshire looks set to be even bigger with growth expected in many leagues and Hyde Park in London being available again to run leagues from Monday to Thursday.

Try Tag Rugby CEO, Phillip Browne said: "We are very pleased with the continued growth of the game across the UK. It's great to see more players; male & female of all varying abilities and backgrounds enjoying Tag Rugby League across the country."
