After impressing with St Helens so far in 2018, Tommy Makinson will make his England debut this Saturday against New Zealand at Denver’s Mile High Stadium.
He and Jake Connor are two uncapped players who will earn their first international honours this weekend having been given the nod by coach Wayne Bennett.
And playing in the 76,000 capacity Denver Broncos stadium is an opportunity that the 26-year-old couldn’t be more excited for.
He said: “The boys are really looking forward to it and it’s a new challenge and it will be a tough one as well.
“Bringing Rugby League over here is important, you can see the excitement in people’s faces already and we’re expecting a big crowd here on Wednesday.
“We drove past Mile High Stadium on the way into Denver and it looks magnificent and we’re training there on Friday and I’m just so excited to see what it’s actually like, because I’ve seen and heard so much about it.”

With six tries and six assists in Super League so far in 2018, Makinson has been a huge part of St Helens’ success this year and feels brining that winning mentality into camp has given him even more confidence.
He said: “At Saints we’ve had a fantastic start and are playing really well but whatever club you come from, when you’re in the England camp you all buy into one thing and everybody brings something difference.
“We’ve met up a few times but we’re in the game week now and I’m getting on really well with the lads. It’s a great bunch and a real tight-knit group.”
