Widnes Vikings forward Hep Cahill has sustained an achilles injury that has ruled him out for the rest of the 2018 season.
Cahill was taken from the field in the latter stages of the game against Wakefield Trinity on Friday 25th May. After visiting a specialist late last week, it was confirmed that the 31-year old has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
The New Zealand-born forward joined Widnes from Crusaders in 2012, after starting his career in the NRL with Melbourne Storm.
Cahill has already started his rehabilitation and could make his return in 2019.
