An Independent Operational Rules Tribunal (HHJ Chris Batty, Stuart Fielden & Graeme Hallas) reviewed the following case this evening:
Ashton Sims (Toronto Wolfpack) pleaded not guilty to the two-match penalty notice handed to him by the Match Review Panel, for a Grade B Kicking charge in the Dewsbury Rams v Toronto Wolfpack Betfred Championship fixture on April 15.
Sims and his representative reasoned that the action was not intentional, citing that the player's view was obscured and that he apologised to his opponent (Crowther) who sent in a statement of support of Sims. The tribunal found the player not guilty and Sims will not face a ban.
