Tag Rugby League is a fun and exciting non-contact social sport suitable for adults; no previous rugby experience is necessary; it's a sport that can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced players alike!
Try Tag Rugby will launch in Hull by starting with a single league for the Early Summer Season at the Hull Sports Centre, with plans to add further leagues going forward.
After running at the Hull Sports Centre for the Early Summer and Summer seasons, the league will then relocate to the nearby Tigers Trust Arena on 3G floodlit pitches which are next door to the KCOM stadium and just over a mile away from Hull train station and the city centre. Both venues have ample parking onsite.
To celebrate the launch of Try Tag Rugby in Hull, the Rugby Football League have invited a Tag Rugby exhibition match to be played at Magic Weekend at St. James' Park in Newcastle on Sunday, May 20, during half time of the Hull FC Vs Hull KR derby match.
The Hull league, based at Hull Sports Centre located at Chanterlands Avenue, HU5 4EF, will launch on Monday, April 30.
Tag Rugby League is a very social sport and a great way to meet new people as well as a chance to meet up with existing friends.
The club's onsite bar will be an ideal location during the summer months for hosting the traditional Try Tag Rugby weekly post-match social, where players come together to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat with their team mates and opposition.
Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire Operations Manager, Carl Duckels, said: "We're delighted to be launching in Hull.
"We've had plenty of keen players from Hull travel all the way to Leeds to play in our established leagues over the years and it's going to be interesting to see our Hull league take off in which we're sure it will.
"Tag Rugby League is a sport for all no matter what age, gender or experience level, so with Hull having a large number of contact rugby players, this is a great way for ex-players, player's partners, current players and people that can't commit to training twice a week and playing on weekends to still get a rugby ball in their hands and have a run around!"
Free Taster Sessions will take place on Monday, April 9 and Monday, April 23 for interested new individuals, groups and teams.
