George Williams was named the Our League Man of the Match as Wigan Warriors defeated Hull FC in the first Betfred Super League game outside of Europe.
The half back was at the centre of Wigan’s movement, making 123 metres and four tackle busts. Williams also did his duty on the defensive side making 19 tackles in the victory.
Winger Ryan Hall assisted one try and made 169 metres as well as eight tackle busts as he continued his impressive start to the season.
Stevie Ward also registered an assist to add to a solid 45 tackles as he returned from injury.
Warrington prop Chris Hill put in another impressive performance as his Wolves side fell to their second defeat.
Hill made 106 metres and 49 tackles whilst full back Stefan Ratchford made 159 metres and provided the assist for Warrington’s only try.
St Helens had a tougher time of it this week as they held off a resurgent Catalans in Perpignan.
England man Jonny Lomax scored the first try of the game in less than one minute. James Roby made 61 tackles in the victory, more than any other player on the field.
Castleford won their first game of the season with a close fought victory over Widnes Vikings.
Man of Steel Luke Gale’s drop-goal was the difference between the two sides in chilly conditions at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle.
