Wolves make it perfect 7 in Smith's final game

Warrington Wolves 46-24 Hull KR

Tony Smith's final game in charge as coach of Warrington ended in a comfortable 46-24 victory over Hull KR at the Halliwell Jones Stadium as the Wolves ended the season unbeaten in the Betfred Super 8s Qualifiers.

Smith's nine years in charge at the Wolves brought three Challenge Cup wins, two league leaders' shields and three Grand Final appearances, and there were emotional scenes at the end of the game as he said his goodbyes on the pitch.

Hull KR looked in the mood to spoil the party when they raced into an 18-4 lead in the first half but the home side recovered and produced a much improved second half display to end the season with 10 straight wins - a club equalling record in the Super League era.

Ben Pomeroy and Andre Savelio both claimed two tries for the Wolves and others came from Stefan Ratchford, Peta Hiku, Ben Currie, Harvey Livett and Brad Dwyer, with Livett landing four goals and Kurt Gidley one.

Wingers Will Oakes and  Ryan Shaw both scored two tries for the Robins in defeat while Jamies Ellis landed four goals.
